I really enjoy shooting grungy subjects like the rusty chain I saw hanging from the side of an old fishing boat. The shadow and diagonal line slicing through the frame made the shot.

Blue Abstract
One of my favorite places to shoot is at the East Mooring Basin in Astoria. There's a variety of things to shoot there: old fishing boats, docks, the Columbia River, and lots interesting reflections. Last Sunday, I spent a few hours just wandering shooting reflections and abstracts with my 70-200 lens. For me, it's very relaxing to "find" interesting compositions on the move.
