Bob's Autumn Almanac

I've spent a lot of time wandering around this fall getting used to life in the suburbs. This has afforded me a lot of time to shoot fall color: most of the time at f2.8 to emphasize a single detail in the photo. What I found most interesting in this photo is the out-of-focus areas, also known as the bokeh. I especially like the heart-shaped yellows in the background. Below, there a shot of some dead thistles in beautiful late afternoon light.

One morning at Random Order . . .

. . . on Alberta Street in Portland, I saw this perfectly distressed chair. I just had to shoot it wide open @ f2.8!
